Assets: Owns great size and strength, outstanding scoring prowess and a wealth of poise and determination with the puck. Is capable of setting up linemates or light the lamp himself. Has great one-on-one moves.
Flaws: Needs more work on his play without the puck, since he has the talent to dominate in all three zones. Still takes a few shifts off, though he's getting better in that category.
Career Potential:8.5 A Outstanding offensive forward.

Joshua Ho-Sang RW 15 1000000 3 31 51 42 49 39 41 37 53 56 81 41 49 47 47 39 56
Size : 6" 176 POT/CON : 91\76 POS : RW\LW Click :1

Josh Ho-Sang, a 16-year-old winger playing in his initial OHL season with the Windsor Spitfires, first burst onto the hockey prospect scene last year after a remarkable performance in the All-Canadians camp for the nation’s best 15-year-old players. The Thornhill, Ontario native not only shone in the brief NHLPA documentary of the event that the sponsors put together, but dazzled with a shootout goal that won the camp’s final game. Ho-Sang displayed his tremendous puck-handling skills as he dangled his way through the slot, deked the netminder to his knees and then lifted a shot over the outstretched goaltender’s right shoulder.

After that camp, one of his teammates, Aaron Ekblad, would head off to the OHL a year early on a rare age exemption that allows 15-year-old's to join the major junior league. Windsor general manager Warren Rychel suggested that Ho-Sang would be another player capable of gaining the exemption and compared his talent level to players like Steven Stamkos (TBL) and former Spitfires' star Taylor Hall (Depth Chart et Evaluation Personel Hockey 359145749). Rychel called Ho-Sang the most dangerous players one-on-one with the goaltender that he had ever seen.

But Ho-Sang decided not to pursue the exemption and chose instead to stay home and play another year of midget hockey in the Toronto area. One season and a Midget championship later, Rychel drafted Ho-Sang fifth overall in the OHL Priority Selection.

Ho-Sang will be eligible for the NHL Draft in the summer of 2014 where he will again be expected to be a top pick in what is shaping up to be another stellar draft class. His combination of puck skills and remarkable skating ability sets him apart from most of the rest of his class.

Ho-Sang currently plays on the Spitfires’ second power-play unit, and often will carry the puck up ice from his own zone, using his speed and agility to gain the offensive blue line and force penalty killers to react. His maneuverability through traffic with the puck glued to stick is a pleasure to watch, and his balance and agility allows him to make moves at full speed that most players would not even try. Weighing only 160 pounds, Ho-Sang does not play a physical game, but he has shown a willingness to take a hit to make the play. Most of the time, opposing players have a difficult time putting a body on him, though, and often end up pulling Ho-Sang down instead of catching him with a clean hit.

Ho-Sang needs to improve his defensive play, but his instincts in his own end are good and he plays a smart game. At this point in his hockey career, he looks like a player waiting to activate on offense instead of putting in the dirty work in his own end to recover possession from the opponents. Still, Ho-Sang will go deep into his defensive zone to retrieve pucks, and has not yet been relied on as a defensive forward for Windsor. He gets a majority of his zone starts on the offensive side of the puck, and sees little to no time on the penalty kill.

Windsor coach Bob Boughner recently benched Ho-Sang for a game in order to send him a message about team discipline. Ho-Sang responded with a three-point game upon his return to the lineup, and has been on a point-per-game pace since. At times it appears that Ho-Sang is still learning how not to be the best player on the ice, and to trust his teammates more. When he does, he makes solid reads and dishes out passes that are on target and easy to receive, and he often helps create good scoring chances.

Ho-Sang is an electrifying player with a bright future. With 17 points in his first 21 OHL games, he is producing at a high level for his age and is among the top 10 scorers among OHL rookies. ISS ranked Ho-Sang seventh overall in the November listing of 2014 draft-eligible players. As his strength and defensive awareness improves, and his overall play begins to catch up to his offensive gifts, Ho-Sang will become a player known throughout the hockey world as more than just an incredible shootout goal scorer. 9.5 D

-Another less heralded Finn is sniping winger Artturi Lehkonen, and he had a really strong preseason in the European Trophy series, where he was top scorer on his team with five goals and three assists in seven games. He's off to a great start in SM-liiga play as well, and has already received some first-line minutes while a few veteran forwards missed some games with minor injuries.

Lehkonen has always been a pure scorer and should be a staple on the Finnish U-18 club's top line and PP unit. His small frame (5-10, 163) and lack of physical play is the drawback that keeps him out of our top 50 for the moment.Rating 8.0 C

Size : 5"11 195 POT/CON : 71\76 POS : RW\C Click : 1

Talent Analysis

A strong skater, Letestu makes his living as a playmaking center by trade. While he is not the strongest forward along the boards, Letestu is capable of dictating the play in the offensive zone. What Letestu does lack in grit and physicality he makes up for in sound positional play. Despite being not overly effective along the boards, he is a strong skater with good balance and understands his limitations and his role within the team. The skilled forward however will never likely be a great offensive threat in the NHL, as to this point his talents haven't translated on the scoresheet. 6.5 A

Talent Analysis

Cast in the mold of Matthew Barnaby, who made an NHL career out of a determined, aggressive, physical game built onto a similar frame (six feet and around 185 pounds), Dorsett will need to continue to add upper body strength and wear his heart on his sleeve to have a realistic shot at the NHL. Twenty years ago, a player with Dorsett’s skill set and sheer doggedness would be in line for a healthy NHL career with continued development.

Erne had the best showing of any player from the Q, using his powerful stride to create separation on the outside and created offense steadily. Assets: Has exceptional vision and creativity on the ice. His offensive instincts are off the charts. Owns great patience with the puck, as well as soft hands. Plays with attitude and doesn't mind getting under his opponents' skin.

Flaws: Still needs work in the defensive zone. Lacks bulk and is undersized by NHL standards. Good in shootouts, he isn't much of a goal-scorer during game action; he prefers to pass instead of shooting a bit too often. 7.5 A

Talent Analysis

McFarland is a highly-skilled player who has struggled to produce at the level expected of him when he first hit the OHL. McFarland plays with an edge and--when combined with his speed and quality wrist shot--he has the talent to be a scorer at the NHL level. However, McFarland has been inconsistent and ineffectual at times, and his junior hockey career has been marked by significant dry spells. 7.0 D

Talent Analysis

Grachev is a top prospect with size, a physical presence and good hands. An above average skater with a pro shot and the ability to protect the puck, Grachev has transitioned from being a center to being a winger. Expected to be a power forward at the next level, Grachev will need to work on giving the team a consistent effort throughout the game, but there is no question that he has all the skills to be a top-six forward in the NHL. 7.0 C

Monahan is another late birthday who projects to be a Top 5 pick in 2013. After bulking up since first entering the league, Monahan has developed into a well-rounded two-way centre who has high-end vision. Playing a style that emulates that of Sean Couturier, Monahan is a versatile centre who will be able to play a number of different roles at the NHL level. Monahan’s skating and explosiveness need to continue to improve to add a dynamic element to his game, but Monahan projects to have first line upside at the NHL level.

Assets: Owns one of the best shots in the NHL. Has the creativity, offensive wizardry, explosiveness and soft hands of a supreme goal-scorer. Is lethal one-on-one and can break a game open at any time.

Flaws: Could use more muscle on his 6-2 frame, since he can struggle in physical contests. An unpredictable sort, he needs to better utilize his linemates and work on his defense. Is somewhat injury-prone and moody. 8.5 D

Assets: Has both the size and mean streak to keep skilled players honest. Excels in one-on-one situations, as he literally overpowers opponents. Can unleash a big-time point shot to score a fair amount of goals and log a lot of ice time. Has the ability to drop the gloves and is a born leader.
Flaws: Must curb his propensity to run around the defensive zone in search of the big hit from time to time. Also, he can go overboard in terms of his physicality from time to time and take a bad penalty for a questionable hit. Is still a little inconsistent in terms of playing the shutdown role. 9.0 A

An absolute physical specimen; Zadorov is 6’5, weighs 229 lbs and he’s eager to use it. Cleans players out along the walls and in open ice without really exerting himself, he just… skates through them. As for his skating, he moves really well for a man his size. His foot speed isn’t elite, but he’s coordinated, fluid and well balanced. I’ve yet to see him get beat wide, and he’s quick enough to stay with his man. As you would expect he has tremendous reach as well, which allows him to cover even more ground, and he knows how to get his stick in passing lanes. He’s tough to play against and has been a smothering defensive presence.Think of Scott Niedermeyer at 6"5 and 230....Yeah,Your not Dreaming... 9.0 B

Size : 5"11 195 POT/CON : 78\85 POS : D Click : 2

Talent Analysis
Clendening is an offensive defenseman blessed with superb puck-moving ability and on-ice vision. His excellent puck skills are one reason why many scouts are so high on Clendening. He can see plays develop and follows them quite well. He can also be found frequently jumping into plays too. Clendening's ability to move the puck and patience with it makes him an ideal quarterback on the power play. He makes very good decisions with the puck and distributes the puck very well. Clendening can also control the tempo of the game from the blue line. He is an excellent skater with good speed that can keep up with many of the faster opposing forwards. He also transitions quite well too. One area where Clendening will need to improve is keeping his feet moving more consistently. While he is known for his offensive prowess, Clendening is also solid defensively. He doesn't shy away from the physical side of the game and plays with a good deal of intensity. However, Clendening could stand to utilize his intensity and grit more to the benefit of his team. He possesses a very good shot and can get pucks to the net. As his rookie season at Boston University went along, one area that Clendening showed noticeable improvement in was the quality of shots he was taking.

Talent Analysis
Polak is defensive defenseman. He likes to throw his weight around, and will punish opponents along the boards. His strength and balance make him a good choice to defend the front of the goal during penalty killing situations. Polak will usually play it safe, as opposed to joining the rush, but he does record points on occasion, in part due to his hard slapshot.

Polak has already shown some of his ability to be a steady depth defenseman in the NHL.

Talent Analysis

Kinkaid is a poised goaltender with good size and great economy of movement. He also possesses great agility, reflexes and his lateral movement is also quite good. One of his best attributes is his puck-handling ability. He moves and plays the puck exceedingly well. Kinkaid's use of his tall, lanky frame in covering the net is excellent. He does a very good job of staying square to shooters and is not afraid to challenge them either. He has good rebound control which helps him limit the number of second and third chances.

Future : 7 C

Kinkaid showed a lot as a first year pro in Albany, justifying the Leafs decision to sign him last year out of Depth Chart et Evaluation Personel Hockey 3106593018. The season was a long grind for him, but he persevered and should become a better player down the road because of it. He has starting potential, but still needs at least another year, possibly two, of Intense 2nd Goalie Work.
